Saturday & Sunday, Feb. 10 & 11 (Queens 45 minutes from Hoboken & JC) Lunar New Year at the Queens Zoo: The WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Queens Zoo and Prospect Park Zoo are celebrating the Year of the Dog with special activities to ring in the Lunar New Year. The Queens Zoo’s coyotes will be the featured canines for Lunar New Year event. Activities include a self-guided, scavenger hunt, ribbon dancing, paper cutting and calligraphy workshops, story time, keeper chats, and other educational programming. Sunday February 11th 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM (West Orange 30 minutes from Hoboken & JC) The Turtleback Zoo Explorers Program offers a drop off program for 4 & 5 year olds at The Education Center. Join then as they use movement, stories, games, and crafts for these interactive, science-based lessons to learn about the wonderful and fascinating world of animals. Supervised outings to specific areas of the Zoo that support the lesson are included as weather permits. Each session features classes with a different theme, so you can attend one or all three! Sunday, February 11th 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM (Hoboken) The Hoboken Family Alliance (HFA) will host its annual Cabin Fever Festival at The Brandt School (215 9th St, Hoboken). This will be the sixteenth year that HFA has been organizing this event. Cabin Fever is an open house for local businesses catering to kids. Sample kids classes, activities, summer day camps. Enjoy live music and dance performances. While you check out the details and meet the instructors and camp counselors, the kids can cure their “cabin fever” with arts activities, face painting, balloons, and more. Admission is FREE for HFA members and $20 per family for all others.
