When our Bilingual Teaching Musicians are not in the classroom you can find them gigging around town in our spectacular band. 11 AM – Paper Heart Puppets present “The Carrot Salesman” Join Mr. Bunny, a door-to-door vegetable salesman, as he journeys beneath the earth, into the sea, and even to outer space in search of carrot customers. Mar 10th 10:00AM-11:30 AM (Jersey City) Join the folks at Liberty State Park for a stroll along the beach to see what the tide has brought ashore. Please dress to be outdoors and wear old shoes that can get wet and muddy. You will need your own vehicle to get to the study site. The play explores the wonders of evolution in an old-fashioned revue of original songs, witty jokes, and earth-smashing dances performed by giant dinosaur puppets. Haupt Conservatory at the NY Botanical Garden featuring a series of installations crafted by Daniel Ost—each a living sculpture that celebrates the complex beauty of these stunning flowers.One of the world’s leading floral designers, Ost uses flowers as a means of expression. His artistic creations will be tailored to the unique environment of the landmark Victorian-style Conservatory, complementing the architecture of the building while creating a transformative, dazzling spectacle of color, form, and texture. Orchids of seemingly every conceivable shape and provenance from the Garden’s collections as well as from some of the finest growers in the world, including rare and iconic specimens, will be on display.

This fun and interactive exhibition helps visitors explore their own personal eating habits, as well as the eating habits of other cultures. Visitors can discover topics such as physical activity versus food intake, the workings of the digestive system, creating a balanced diet, and the origin of foods that populate grocery store shelves. The exhibition covers five themes through a dozen games, and features life-sized (and oversized) interactive and energetic activities for both groups and individuals that promote physical activity, a necessary component of a healthy lifestyle. Museum admission is $16 adults; $13 children, students and senior citizens.

Putt your way through a nine-hole miniature golf course that teaches the science of spaceflight. Players will explore key science concepts such as propulsion, gravity, escape velocity, launch window, gravitational assist, and more. Open daily during regular NYSCI hours, weather permitting $6 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, plus general museum admission.
