I’m just back from the beach and am truly missing the fresh air and openness of Bay Head. As soon as I walk into the house after a summer away I just feel the need to perk the place up. I’ve noticed a few Fall home decor trends I like the look of and wanted to share.

The key to great Fall decor is feeling warm and snug in your home — and that’s exactly why Americana farmhouse style is big this season. Incorporating natural wood elements, animal motifs, and fresh Fall flowers is a simple way to add some great Fall style to your home. This could just be as simple as bringing in a few wooden accessories and beautiful fall flowers and herbs.

If you love mixing prints, patterns and colors, doing so with rugs is an unexpected and fun way to change the look of a room. Start with an inexpensive sisal rug that fills the space, then layer with a smaller rug to introduce pattern and color. There aren’t a ton of rules when it comes to this trend, so have fun with it!

The possibilities with metallics are endless: statement lighting, knickknacks, and even furniture. Metallics make any space feel luxurious and glamorous. This season, don’t feel limited just to bronze or gold either: rose gold and silver and brass are making it big and allowing for even more creativity with this trend.

One of the easiest and quickest ways to update your space for Fall and take it through the Winter season is with plenty of plush cushions and throw blankets. Focus on rich textures like faux fur, cable knits, and velvet to really channel the Fall vibe. And don’t worry about going overboard with this trend – more is more!

Gone are the days of solid accent walls — one of the biggest trends this season is using bold prints instead of a solid color. This trend is very versatile, encompassing bold geometric prints as well as softer floral motifs. Create your own with a stencil, or check out some great wallpapers to fit your space.

Many stylish kitchens have modern fixtures, modern appliances, and the newest gadgets. So if you want to tone down the modern vibe, using vintage rugs in your kitchen adds pops of color and a whole lot of personality.
