This weekend has more than just Trick or Treats ahead!
Saturday, October 28 11:00 am to 3:00 pm Raise the bar this Halloween with the Haunted High Line Halloween. Travel back in time and learn the history of the High Line. Get into character with artistic face painting, capture memories with our old-time photo booth, dance, go on a scavenger hunt with candy, and watch live performances. Entrance is on a first-come, first-served basis. If there’s space, RSVPing in advance will provide a faster check-in process.
Friday, Oct. 27th 6:00 – 9:00 PM Kids Night at the Museum is a chance for kids ages 5 and up to leave their parents at home and have their own night of fun! Kids can spend the evening at the Hoboken Historical Museum and enjoy games, arts and crafts, a scavenger hunt, pizza and popcorn, and a movie!
Saturday October 28 11:00 AM-2:00 PM RUN to the Scary Scurry race on the south side of Pier A- this is the Kid’s version of The HoBOOken5K Halloween Run, Hoboken’s one and only costumed race! Originally founded in 2010 by the Hoboken Elysianettes Running Society, the race has evolved into an exciting fundraising event that benefits the Hoboken Shelter. Register here. Deadline to register is midnight October 26th.
Saturday October 28 11:00 AM-4:00 PM Meet us at the Spooky Terminal! We will be giving away spooky spider rings and one lucky family will win a photo session valued at $550! Spooky Terminal is organized by the fabulous ChicpeaJC . The event is located in a one of a kind train terminal overlooking the gorgeous Manhattan skyline in the heart of Liberty State Park. Saturday October 28 1:00 PM-3:00 PM Witches and monsters and ghosts, oh my! Kids and families are invited to join Thunder & Sunshine for a spooktacular, rockin’ “Monster Mash” Halloween show at Joe’s Pub in Greenwich Village. Thunder & Sunshine has plenty of treats in store for this concert, with puppets, prizes, and spooky surprises galore. (Appropriate for ages 3 and up)
Saturday October 28 2:00 PM-6:00 PM Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog®\, Miffy, Franny K. Stein, Danny’s Dinosaur, and Little Critters are among the characters who will greet costumed children as they arrive at the American Museum of Natural History to celebrate Halloween. With more than 30 Museum halls open for the event, guests are invited to wander among “ferocious” dinosaurs, “eerie” elephants, and the “mysterious” universe for trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, and fun with roaming cartoon characters, stilt walkers, and balloon artists.
Saturday October 28 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Join JCFamilies and Mack-Cali at the Harborside Atrium for the biggest Family Halloween event in Downtown Jersey City: The JC Halloween Spooktacular : Halloween Costume Family Parade and Party-Four hours of unlimited fun, activities for the entire family including a family costume parade, dance party, carnival games, puppet show, and photo corners. Saturday October 28th 4:30 PM-6:00 PM Explore the Haunted Forest at the Tenafly Nature Center. Arrive early or come after dark and meet several live nocturnal animals on a sensory safari along their trails. Learn about animal senses and then test your own sensory skills. Tenafly Nature Center Educators will guide small groups along the nature center trails. After your tour enjoy refreshments and crafts around the campfire. (All ages welcome however the trails are not stroller-friendly)
Saturday & Sunday October 28-29 Don’t just dress up like a sailor- BE one! Sleep over and spend a night aboard the Intrepid Aircraft Carrier! Get exclusive access to the ship and Space Shuttle Pavilion, and sleep among the aircraft, just like enlisted sailors once did. (Appropriate for ages 6 and up)
Saturday & Sunday October 28-29 Shows at 11 and 3 Head to the New Victory Theater in NYC for “A Sky for the Bears”- a show that littles and their adults will love. With all the courage he can muster, a bear sets out on a quest to find a family of his own to love. In a different forest, a little bear sets off to find the quickest way to the clouds in hopes of reuniting with his dear, departed grandfather. Two sweet stories told through charming shadow puppetry and lyrical movement. (Appropriate for ages 4 and up)
