Saturday August 19 10:00 am- 5:00 PM Spend the day on the Morris Canal for Canal Day Music and Art Festival Take a trip down the canal on a mule-drawn boat ride or check out the exotic animals at Wallaby Tales Traveling Zoo, take an underground mine tour, and meet a live wolf and learn about wolves with Vincent Reo of Wolf Vision. Lots more!

August 19 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM Grow something! Explore and learn about the great variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, chickens, and even rice paddies at this 40,000 SF sustainable working Urban Farm on Randall’s Island. All ages are welcome.

Saturday August 19 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM  Follow in the footsteps of magical beings in The Wizard School Scavenger Hunt at The Met  Follow in the footsteps of young wizards on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in search of art that echoes characters, places and enchanted objects in the famed Harry Potter books and movies. Be prepared to track down a powerful sorceress, a Snape-like potions master, flying owls and dragons, Hagrid-like giants, centaurs and unicorns like those you’d see in the Forbidden Forest, strange mermaids and sharks that seem straight out of the Triwizard Tournament, fierce knights in armor, and cloaked and masked figures as scary as any Death Eater or Dementor. Wizards and muggles alike can play and enjoy this hunt.

Saturday August 19 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Head over to Wantage NJ and Space Farms for Teddy Bear Day enjoy this super-quirky museum and zoo and roadside attraction. Kids who bring their teddies get in FREE!

Saturday and Sunday August 19 & 20 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM Travel the world through Gulliver’s Gate  and experience iconic manmade and natural landmarks from around the globe set in 300 tiny scenes. Peek inside an observation hive indoors and explore two field hives on the outdoor deck to see how the busy bees convert nectar into honey, how their larvae grow and more. Sunday August 20 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM Bring your family to the Rubin Museum for a Sunday afternoon of family-friendly activities.The Rubin Museum of Art is jewel of a museum in the Chelsea area of NYC that inspires personal connections to the ideas, cultures, and art of Himalayan Asia. In honor of the Hindu festival Raksha Bandhan (Rakhi) this August, you can make your own wearable adornments inspired by traditional rakhi styles, friendship bracelets, and even gau (amulet boxes) from the Museum’s collection. FREE for children 3 and up and accompanying adults.
